Mr. Zheng Jianrong, Director-General of Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, Attended the Michigan-Guangdong Exchange Forum

On the afternoon of August 2nd, Michigan China Center hosted “Michigan-Guangdong Exchange Forum” in Ritz-Carlton Hotel (Guangzhou).  Mr. Rick Snyder, Governor of Michigan, and Mr. Charles Bennett, Consul General of the United States of America Consulate General in Guangzhou, attended the forum. Mr. Zheng Jianrong, Director-General of Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, attended the opening ceremony and made a remark.

Mr. Zheng Jianrong extended warm welcome to Mr. Rick Snyder and his retinues, as well as reviewed the friendly cooperation between Guangdong and Michigan at the opening ceremony. Michigan leads the world in auto manufacturing, intelligent equipment and some other industries, therefore, since the establishment of sister relationship between Michigan and Guangdong in May 2016, two sides have conducted close exchanges and cooperation in the field of high-level visits, trade and investment, scientific and technological innovation, advanced manufacturing industry and so on. Mr. Zheng Jianrong hoped that under the framework of economic and trade cooperation between the two sides, more potential cooperation projects between Guangdong and Michigan could have further progress in fields as auto and intelligent manufacturing, education, agriculture, tourism, etc. and the practical cooperation between two sides could be raised to a new level.

During the forum, Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province organized local automobile industry associations and enterprises to conduct business networking with enterprises from Michigan.
