2015年4月21日，中国（广东）自由贸易试验区在广州挂牌成立，涵盖广州南沙新区片区、深圳前海蛇口片区、珠海横琴新区片区共116.2平方公里，广东自贸试验区建设全面启动。

China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone (GDFTZ) has started pursuing its all-round development since it was officially inaugurated in Guangzhou on April 21, 2015. With a coverage of 116.2 square kilometers, the Zone is constituted by 3 areas which are Nansha Area of Guangzhou, Qianhai & Shekou Area of Shenzhen and Hengqin New Area of Zhuhai.

Giving top priority to institutional innovation, the Zone has been devoting great energy to building a pioneering open economy, developing a high-standard gateway for opening up and building into a demonstration area to promote in-depth cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, which has already made it one of the most open and economically vibrant regions in China.

• 新增企业总数从2015年的5.87万家增长至2019年的29.8万家，居全国自贸试验区首位。
• The total number of the newly-established enterprises has increased from 58,700 in 2015 to 298,000 in 2019, ranking first in the national pilot free trade zones.
• 税收收入从595亿元增长至799亿元，提高了34%。
• The total tax revenue has increased from 59.5 billion yuan to 79.9 billion yuan, with an increase of 34%.
• 实际利用外资从28亿美元增长至73亿美元，年均增长34%，累计实际利用外资255.6亿美元，超过全省1/4。
• The amount of paid-in foreign investment has increased from US$2.8 billion to US$7.3 billion, with an average annual increase of 34%. The cumulative amount reached US$25.56 billion, more than a quarter of the total in Guangdong province.
• 进出口总额从1047.1亿元增长至3410.3亿元，增长了200%。
• The total volume of imports and exports has increased from 104.71 billion yuan to 3,410.3 billion yuan, with an increase of 200%.
• 集装箱吞吐量从2274万标箱增长至2818万标箱。
• The container throughput has increased from 22.74 million TEUs to 28.18 million TEUs.
• 77家世界500强企业在区内设立388家企业。
• 77 of Fortune Global 500 enterprises have set up 388 firms in the zone.
